The purpose of this course is to train physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and registered nurses to conduct careful and competent evidentiary examinations for children and adolescents suspected of being victims of acute sexual abuse or sexual assault. It places special emphasis on training examiners to follow the California Protocol for Examination of Sexual Assault and Child Sexual Abuse Victims and to use the OES 925 and 930form in the documentation of injuries and the collection of evidence.
